As cool as it might be, i'm kind of expecting them to do something like create a bottleneck between every area that will be camped and force the majority of players to remain in the starter area.

Will it be an M rated title, and if so how will you deal with ISPs charging people more money to connect to it?
Couldn't resist

Only in the sense that we have a lot of knowledge on how to set up and operate big clusters.
So it's also going to run on a single server?

Curious why you prefer VTM to VTR? Not that I know anything about it.

I think they answered that in how each was described. But if you want, play VTM: Bloodlines and see for yourself.
One of the most underrated games of this decade. Stumbled on it quite by accident and was blown away. Really a shame it didn't get more exposure.

Yeah, one of the creepier games I've ever played. The scene in the haunted house really messed with my mind... I had to keep reminding myself that I was a bad ass mother ****ing vampire and no silly ghost was gonna mess with me!
-Liang
So many events in that game stuck with me, which is rare these days. Characters and everything were so vivid. AI was a little buggy, but we can blame that on Valve.
Everytime the subject comes up i find myself gushing about it. Think i'm going to finally give it another playthrough.

I think battletesting is just the term they use for adapting code that is used on the live server.

Originally by: Ghoest I really dont think I implied at all that you have to be gay to roleplay or even enjoy roleplaying.
I was strictly meaning just what I said - that it seemed like an odd demographic switch from one particular game to another particular game.
What real difference is there between immortal bloodthirsty humans in space, and immortal bloodthirsty humans on Earth?
Like i mentioned in my last post, you can thank Anne Rice for creating the idea you have about vampires. Twilight is a continuation of the same garbage, and i hate it all as much as anyone, but it's not the final word in the genre. White Wolf's vamps aren't the kind of angsty teenagers you find in most pop culture.

Was speaking more about the characters and stories WoD has compared to the average Vampire fare, not the fans. It simply having Vampires will make the Twilight crowd show up, and they'll probably retch at the first sign of blood or the sound of a neck snapping.
The main difference to me is in WoD you're more apt to see Vampires loving every minute of being one and feeling like gods than you are ones feeling sorry for themselves. Which is why i find their Vampires more realistic. Anne Rice had this 'ooo, poor me, i'm an ageless superhuman' thing going on which wore thin after awhile.

Originally by: Oorestes Why would being gay have anything to do with the demographic at all? Jeez, some people. Gay people have been playing Eve since the beginning and are no more or less likely to be attracted to a vampire mmo than they are a spaceship mmo.
I think they're probably going on how effeminate male Vampires have become in a lot of movies. Which doesn't mean gay exactly, but it still conjures confusing feelings in the hearts of those guys who are militantly hetero. You know the type. They put a lot of effort into appearing as straight as possible for some reason.

Originally by: Herzog Wolfhammer but this notion from Anne Rice's work about vampires lacking in desires - being somewhat celibate, was a stepping stone.
Yeah, Vampire myths trace their origins to Succubis and Incubis, so the celibate thing is a step away from that. However it started a long time before Anne Rice, with blood drinking replacing the more intangible act of draining someones life force via sex. In modern versions, WoD included, Vampires just use their seductiveness to manipulate members of the opposite sex into doing things, and blood is often just taken from any living thing with no need for such subtleties.
It just occurred to me that male vampires becoming more androgynous looking in modern versions may be a response to them feeding from both sexes instead of being specialized in just the opposite sex, like succubis and incubis.

Because the comic was one of the inspirations they used for the original setting.
I heard it was the cinematic masterpiece Monster Squad which started it all.

Damn straight. The female to male ratio in this game might actually be close to even.
There will still be plenty of sausage fest games for you to play, so don't fret.

Nothing against those that do, nothing against CCP for making it; I still prefer my spaceships, tyvm.
I didn't say all did. It's just something more tend to be interested in.
Women who are into internet spaceships, for example, are a very rare breed. You find more in fantasy games like WoW, but it's still not even close to the amount of guys.
